What is The Warrior of the Month?

 

Gauche Coeur is excited to feature a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Warrior each month to highlight and raise awareness of the prevalence of CHD in children around the world. The heart defect results when the heart or blood vessels near the heart do not develop properly before birth. There are some different heart defects, and 8 out of every 1,000 newborns are affected each year. In the United States alone there are almost 40,000 babies born with CHD each year, and about 1% of those babies are born with a critical CHD. CHDs are the leading cause of birth-defect associated infant illness and deaths, which is why we at Gauche Coeur want to bring light to the fight these Warriors fight every day.
